Here you can search for English glosses in the current state of the outline version
of the lexicon database. You may use "*" or "%" as a wildcard for any string of characters.
Thus "king" will return all examples of just that, "horse*" will also return instances of "horseman", "horses", etc.
An additional possible use for this search mode would be to search for usages in special fields such as "astron*", "math", "geog", "music" and so forth. For other approaches to issues of semantic fields, we suggest you take advantage of such online resources as thesaurus.com. NB: The module searches only within the glosses, not within the dialect strings or the Aramaic values. Also, please be aware that this is a "live" display of the database, which is constantly being added to, modified, and corrected. |
