שֵׁגְלָה   n.f.  consort

royal consort, queen  BADan.  Dan5:3 : מַלְכָּא וְרַבְרְבָנוֹהִי שֵׁגְלָתֵהּ וּלְחֵנָתֵהּ  the king, his nobles, his consorts, and his concubines.

Akkadian ša ekalli; see AIOA 97 and , for the precise nuance in Akkadian, S. Arbeli-Rave, Leshonenu 52(1988): 8ff. In some dialects this word apparently referred to what we would call "queen" while mlkh was the "queen mother"; q.v. For extensive discussion of the Hebrew usage ‏נִצְּבָה שֵׁגַל לִימִינְךָ בְּכֶתֶם אוֹפִיר at Ps 45:10, see now "Divine Queenship and Psalm 45" by B. L. Deal, a thesis available at this url pp. 14ff. The usage as a divine name or epithet at Hatra is probably not to be connected with the divine name šngl at Teima, since we would expect to find the nun spelled in typical Hatran orthography.
