שַׁמִּין‏ adj. fat

fat, fatty (of animals) JLAtg, Gal, PTA, Sam, Syr, JBA, Man, LJLA. TgJ 1Sam15:9 : שְפַר עָנָא וְתוֹרֵי וְשַמִינַיָא וֻפַטִימַיָא‏ the best of the small cattle and oxen and the fatty ones and the fattened ones. TN Deut32:14 : שמיני תורין‏ . PJ Gen18:7 : ולבקרותא רהט אברהם ונסיב בר תורי רכיך ושמין‏ Abraham ran to the cattle pen and took a tender and fat young ox.

(of land) fruitful, productive JLAtg, CPA, Syr, JBA. TgJ Is5:1 : בְטוּר רָם בַאְרַע שַמִינָא‏ . fat portion JLAtg, PTA.
