עָן עָנָא‏   n.f.pl.t.  small cattle: sheep and goats


  flock (of sheep and goats)  Com.  4QEnc4..8 : אתיב֗ א֗מרא דן לכול ענא טעיתא לדיריה[ון]‏  this sheep returned all the straying flock to their folds.  TgO Gen30:43 : וַהֲוָה לֵיה עָן סַגִיאָן‏  he had many small cattle.  TgPs78:70 : ודבריה מן עדריא דענא‏  he took (David) from the flocks.

  sheep (as opposed to goats)  Gal, PTA, Syr.  TN Gen31:8 : הוות ילדה כל ענה‏  every sheep would give birth.  TN Lev5:15 : מן ענה בעלויה‏  from the sheep according to its evaluation.
