אֶשָּׁא‏ n.f. fire; fever

fire, flame Com^-Syr. Dan7:11 : וִיהִיבַת לִיקֵדַת אֶשָּׁא‏ it was consigned to burning by fire †. 11QtgJob 36.5=41:11 : יפקון בלשני אשה‏ they go out with tongues of fire. TgO Gen15:17 : וְהָא תַנוּר דִתָנַן וֻבָעוֹר דְאִישָא עֲדָא בֵין פִלגַיָא הָאִלֵין‏ there was a smoking oven and a burn of fire passing among these parts. GT D Gen38:26 : טַב לִי יָקֵד֯ בְּאֶשָּא טַפְיָא ו֯לָא בְאֶשָּא דְאָכְלָא אֶשָּא‏ better for me to burn in fire that goes out and not in the all-consuming fire.
