אֵיגוּר   n.m.  temple; pagan shrine


  pagan shrine, pagan altar  JLAtg, Sam, BabMBK, JBA, Man, LJLA.  TgO Ex34:13 : אְרֵי יָת אֵיגוֹרֵיהוֹן תְתָרְעֻון.  PJ Deut12:3 : ותסתרון ית אגוריהון.  TgIIChron 34:7 : ותרע ית אגוריא וית אשיריא וצלמניא ד{ע}<א>דק לאדקדקא  he destroyed the pagan temples and crushed the asherahs and idols into powder.

From Sumerian e.kur > Akk. ekurru; AIOA p. 48. The example cited in DJBA (s.v. איגורא) is "uncertain" and has variants.
Note that this word is regularly used in the JLA targums to render BH מזבח when reference is to a pagan one or one used for incorrect worship.
