אֱנָשׁ אְַנָשָׁא   n.m.  person, someone, humanity


  person, someone  Com.  Ezra6:11 : כָל־אֱנָשׁ דִּי יְהַשְׁנֵא פִּתְגָמָא דְנָה  anyone who alters this order. inhabitant  Com.  PJ Gen19:4 : אינשין רשיעין דבקרתא.   sg. with pl. referent  BAEzra.  Ezra4:11 : אֱנָשׁ עֲבַר־נַהֲרָה  the inhabitants (or: people) of Transeuphratia.   +by : household members : see also s.v. ˀnšy bytˀ  Qumran, JLAtg, Syr, JBA, Man.  GenApoc 20.17 : והואת כתשא לה ולכול אנש ביתה  it was afflicting him and all his household.

  Man, humanity (usually in the emphatic)  BADan, Qumran, JLAtg, Syr.  Dan5:5 : אֶצְבְּעָן דִּי יַד־אֱנָשׁ  fingers of a human hand.  GenApoc 6.26 : לאנשא ולבעירא ולחי֗ו֗תא לעופא.  TgJ Jer27:5 : אֲנָא בְמֵימְרִי עֲבַדִית יָת אַרעָא יָת אֲנָשָא וְיָת בְעִירָא דְעַל אַפֵי אַרעָא.   sg. with pl. agreement  JLAtg, Syr.  TgJ Is41:11 : יֵיבְדוּן אְנָש דִינָך  your opponents shall disappear.  TgJ Is41:12 : וְלָא תַשכְחִינוּן לַאְנָש מַצוּתָך  [=MT: וְלֹא תִמְצָאֵם אַנְשֵׁי מַצֻּתֶךָ]. anyone  Com-OA.  4QLevicar1..3 : ٠٠٠]ת אף דן בלבבי ולכל אנש לא [٠٠٠  [I kept] this too in my heart and did not [reveal] it to anyone.  TgO Gen2:5 : וַאֲנָש לֵית לְמִפלַח יָת אֲדַמתָא  while there was not anyone to work the land.  PJ Gen13:11 : ואתפרשו אינש מעל אחוי  they separated from each other. absolute with negative verb: no one  Com.  TgJ 1Sam21:3 : אְנָש לָא יִדַע מִדָעַם יָת פִתגָמָא  let no one know anything about the matter.  PJ Gen2:5 : ואינש לא אית למיפלח ית אדמתא  there being no one to work the ground.
