אִיתָּה אִיתְּתָא‏ n.f. woman, wife

Up until Middle Aramaic the nun is always written . Plural nəšīn, nəšayyā,;
The initial (originally short /a/) vowel of the singular becomes /i/ in the closed syllable in Jewish dialects.
