אֲפֵל‏ adj. late appearing

(natural processes) late appearing JLAtg, JBA, Man, LJLA. TgO Ex9:32 : וְחִיטַיָא וְכוּנָתַיָא לָא לְקַאָה אְרֵי אַפלָתָא אִנִין‏ while the wheat and spelt crops were not ruined since they are late crops. TgQoh11:2 : אי חרפי נצחן אי אפלי‏ whether the early crop succeeds or the late.
