אַוַּל‏ n.m. distant past; first condition

beginning, distant past OfA^Gen, Syr, LJLA. PJ Gen1:1 : מן אוולא ברא אלקים ית שמייא וית ארעא‏ .

original condition JLAtg. TgJ Ez16:55 : סְדֹם וְכַפרָנַהָא יְתוּבוּן לְאַוַלהוֹן‏ Sodom and its villages shall return to their original condition. מִן אַולָא٠ באַוַל‏ : at first JLAtg, LJLA. TgJ Is40:21 : הְלָא יְדַעתוּן הְלָא שְמַעתוּן הְלָא אִתחַוַה מִן אַולָא‏ . TgJ Hos9:10 : כְבַכָרָא בְתֵינְתָא דִבאַוַל מְאַבְבַה‏ like the first fruit of the fig that ripens earliest. TgPs37:20 : היך יקר פלגיסין דמן אולא מתפטמין וסופיהון מתנכסין‏ like the finest rams that are first fattened up but at their end are slaughtered. Tobit(Med) 15.13 chap 11 : ואסי אלהא ית עינוהי כיד מן אוולא‏ God healed his eyes as they were originally.
