Latin delator "informer", or the like; for the argument for distinguishing this from dlṭwr see discussion Levy s.v.; but we are obviously not absolutely convinced of the distinction. The word is normally used to render Biblical חנף even though there is a perfectly good Aramaic cognate available. The reference would seem to be not just to pagans but to those aggressively so.
