גְּנִיז‏ adj. hidden, concealed

hidden, concealed Gal, PTA, Syr, LJLA. GT FF Gen49:1 : נִיסַיָיא גנִיזָיָיא וְרָזַיָיא טְמִירַיָה‏ hidden signs and buried secrets. PJ Deut33:19 : ארום גניזיא דת{ח}<ה>ומיא גליין להון‏ the secrets of the depths have been revealed to them.

pl. treasury, archive (=gnz) LJLA. PJ Ex40:4 : ומתמן איסרטוון דנהורי ותמן גניזי חכמתא דמתילין לנהורי‏ from there (the south) are the paths of the lights and from there the treasuries of wisdom that are likened to the lights (i.e., light giving bodies).
