הֶדְיוֹט‏ adj. unlearned, simple

unlearned, simple JLAtg, Gal, PTA, Syr, LJLA. TgJ 1Sam18:23 : וַאְנָא גְבַר מִסכֵין וְהִדיוֹט‏ while I am a poor and simple man. TN Deut28:13 : וישווי יתכון ייי למלכין ולא להדיוטין‏ . PJ Deut28:13 : וימני מימרא דייי יתכון למלכין ולא להדיוטין ותהון לחוד מנטלין ולא תהון למאיסין‏ the Lord’s memra shall appoint you to be kings and not to be simple folk and you shall only be exalted and not be rejected. secular, non-priestly PTA.
