כִּיתָּי   adj.  Kitian, i.e., Aegean

Kitian, i.e. Aegean  JLAtg.  TgJ Jer2:10 : עֵבַרוּ לִנגָוָת כִיתָאָה וַחֲזוֹ  pass over to the isles of the Kitians and see.

=MT כִּתִּים. Although it is generally accepted that the Biblical term refers to the inhabitants of Cyprus, by later times it probably had become somewhat of the mysterious term and there is little reason to assume that the targumists new the original meaning; a general connection with the Aegean, however, is usually clear from the context.
