מַלְכּוּ   n.f.  kingdom


  kingship, reign  Com.  Ezra4:24 : שְׁנַת תַּרְתֵּין לְמַלְכוּת דָּרְיָוֶשׁ מֶלֶךְ־פָּרָס  year two of the rule of Darius King of Persia.  Dan4:26 : הֵיכַל מַלְכוּתָא  the royal palace.  TgJ Ez31:6 : וֻבִטלַל מַלכוּתֵיה  in the protection of His rule. (of a queen) rule along with the king  LJLA.  TgEsth302:4 : ועלימתא די תשפר קדם מלכא תעול למחסן מלכותא חלף ושתי  the girl who pleases the king shall enter into possession of the queenship in place of PN [~ MT תִּמְלֹךְ תַּחַת וַשְׁתִּי].

  kingdom, realm (a political entity)  Com-OA-OfA.  Dan2:41 : מַלְכוּ פְלִיגָה תֶּהֱוֵה  there shall be a divided kingdom (or: rule).  TgJ Ez31:14 : וְלָא יִתְנוּן יָת מַרוַתהוֹן עַל מַלכְוָתָא  nor shall they impose their overlordship over the kingdoms.
