מַנְגָנוֹן‏ n.m. mechanism; instrument of torture

mechanism, contrivance Syr, LJLA. TgEsth² 1:2(94) : והוון אריוון ונישרין סלקי׳ במגנון ומטללין על ריש מלכא שלמה‏ lions and raptors would rise up by means of machinery and shade the head of King Solomon. TgEsth² 1:2(104) : והוה מתחמד דיסק ויתיב עלוהי ולא הוה ידע ד<ב>מנגנין סלקין לי׳‏ he desired to go up and sit on it but did not know that one goes up on up by machinery.
