  Only attested as a plural; the initial consonant cluster is often resolved with a prothetic vowel: JLA נגָווָן‏; Mand angauia; ˁngauia (var. ngauia); LJLA נגוון, אלגוון


  island or coastal region  Qumran, JLAtg, PTA, Man, LJLA.  TgO Gen25:3 : וֻבנֵי דְדָן הֲווֹ לְמַשִריָן וְלִשכוּנִין וְלִנגָוָן.  TN Gen25:3marg : משיריין ויתבין בשכוני׳ ובנ׳.  TgPs65:6 : דכל סיפי ארעא ונגוות ימא דרחיקין מן יבישתא  all the ends of the earth and the islands of the sea that are distant from the mainlands.

  the inhabitants of such places  JLAtg, LJLA.  TgO Gen10:5 : מֵאִלֵין אִתפָרַשוּ נְגָוָת עַמְמַיָא  [=MT מֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ אִיֵּי הַגּוֹיִם].  PJ Gen10:5 .
