פּוּם   n.m.  mouth
  The vocalization in oldest Aramaic is uncertain, though it is written defectively up to and including Middle Aramaic. In later Western dialects it is pem, in literary and Eastern dialects pūm.


  mouth  Com.  Dan4:28 : עוֹד מִלְּתָא בְּפֻם מַלְכָּא  while the word was still in the king's mouth. of animals  Com.  Dan6:23 : פֻּם אַרְיָוָתָא  the mouth of the lions.

  fig.: opening  Com.  Dan6:18 : פֻּם גֻּבָּא  the mouth of the pit.  GT E Gen29:8 : פמה דבארה  the mouth of the well. of a vessel  Com.  GT E Gen44:2 : בפם טעונה דזעירה  at the top of the sack of the young one.

  surface  JLAtg, Syr.  TgO Ex28:32 : עוֹבָד מָחֵי כְפוֹם שִריָן יְהֵי לֵיה דְלָא יִתבְזַע  weaver's work: it should have a surface like that of chain-mail so it may not be torn apart.

  idiomatic expressions:  Com. blade, sharp edge of a sword or knife  Com-OA-BA. פם חד‏ : in unison, agreement  Qumran.  GenApoc 20.8 : פם חד תלתהון ממללין.
