a wild bird - partridge or the like JLAtg, Gal. TgJ 1Sam26:20 : כְמָא דְמִתרְדֵיף קוֹרָאָה בְטוּרַיָא‏ as the partridge is chased in the mountains . TgJ Jer17:11 : הָא כְקוֹרָאָה דִמכַנֵיש בֵיעִין דְלָא דִילֵיה וֻמַשחֵין אַפרוֹחִין דְבָתְרוֹהִי לָא יְהָכוּן‏ like the partridge that collects eggs not belonging to it and hatches chicks that will not follow after it.
