חוֹלֵיל חוֹלֵלָא‏ n.m. auger

auger, drill JLAtg. TgJ 1K6:7 : וְאַרזוֹבִין/ומרזופין/ וְחוֹלֵילִין וְכָל מָן דְבַרזַל/דפרזל/ לָא אִשתְמַע בְבֵיתָא בְאִתבְנָיוּתֵיה‏ neither hammer nor drills nor any iron implement was heard in the temple when it was being built. TgJ Is10:15 : הְאִפשַר דְיִשתַבַח חוֹלֵילָא עַל דְחָלֵיל בֵיה לְמֵימַר הְלָא אְנָא חַללֵית‏ can the drill boast against the one who drills with it saying: did I not drill it †.
