חַיָּה חַיְּתָא   n.f. #2  living creature


  animals (collective)  JLAtg, PTA, Sam, Man, LJLA.  TgO Gen1:24 : וְחַיַת אַרעָא לִזנַה  ground-animals by their kind.  TN Gen1:25 : וברא ממרה דייי ית חייתא דארעא למינה  The Lord's memra created the animals of the earth according to their kind.  TN Gen9:10 : חיתא דארעא.  PJ Gen8:17 : כל חיתא דעימך מכל בישרא בעופא ובבעירא  all the animals that are with you of every kind of flesh among the fowl and the cattle. as singular  JLAtg, JBAg, Man, LJLA.  TgO Gen37:33 : חַיתָא בִישתָא אֲכַלתֵיה  a bad animal ate him.  PJ Gen9:5 : כל חיתא דקטלא לבר נשא  every animal that kills a person. כְחַיַת שֵינָא‏ : dangerous wild animal  JLAtg.  TgJ Hos13:8 : וְקַטֵילתִנוּן תַמָן כִבנֵי אַריָוָן כְחַיַת שֵינָא דִמבַזְעָא  I killed them there like lions, like a wild beast that rips to pieces. חַיַת בָרָא‏ : wild animals  JLAtg.  TgJ Hos2:14 : וַאֲשַוֵינוּן לְחוּרשָא וְתֵיכֵילִנוּן חַיַת בָרָא  I shall put them into the forest and the wild animals will eat them.
