מודן   n.m.  scales

  scales  LJLA.

Undoubtedly a hyper-correct LJLA "aramaization" of BA מאזניא; see s.v. mwznyn based on the fact that Hebrew אזן "ear" corresponds to אדן in Aramaic.
This word, among others, raises a huge problem in terms of the history of LJLA manuscript and language traditions. It is almost inconceivable that the authorship of PsJ did not know the correct Aramaic word, given that it occurs in both Biblical Aramaic and Targum Onkelos. So what is to account for the appearance of this form if not simple scribal tampering?
