The edition follows Petermann's for page and line numbering. Petermann's edition was based upon Paris Codex Sab. 1 with some editorial interference and copying errors. Our edition has been collated from the original manuscripts.
#2# Paris Sab. 2., copied in Basra in 1042 AH (1632—1633 CE)
#5 is the Leiden manuscript. It only survives partially, but is closer to Sab #1 than it is to Sab #2.
#6 is used to indicate where #2 and Leiden agree
(NB: In MD both the page and line number of Petermann's copy
and the paragraph numbering in Lidzbarski's translation seem to be used somewhat randomly.)
