The Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon

Text Information

Ginza Rabba (Great Treasury) Left Side: Ginza Smala i.e., the "left treasury (printed upside down to the "right" in the codices), has been prepared from the Petermann edition and the known mss. by M. Morgenstern as follows:
The edition follows Petermann's for page and line numbering. Petermann's edition was based upon Paris Codex Sab. 1 with some editorial interference and copying errors. Our edition has been collated from the original manuscript.

#1# - second hand in CS 1.
#2# Paris Codex Sab. 2.
#3# Paris Codex Sab. 3.
#4# Leiden ms.

Note that pages s11, s12, s13, s14, s133, s134, s135, and s136 are missing in CS. 1. They were supplemented in Petermann's edition on the basis of other manuscripts, notably CS 2, again with some editorial corrections. Our edition of these pages follows Petermann's pagination and line numbering, but presents an unedited text of CS 2. Where CS 2's reading is problematic, a variant has been presented from CS 3.

On p. s117, the poem beginning ianuq kelai $lim is not found in CS 1 and is presented according to CS 2 with one variant from CS 3
