Text Information

Diwan Malkuta ˁlaita: DMI: The Scroll of Exalted Kingship
Main text:
RRC 2O, copied in Huweza in 1077 AH (1666—7 CE) by Sam Iuhana b. Iahia Adam b. Bihram Zihrun. The manuscript is far superior in its readings to DC 34, but is missing a section of text corresponding to ll. 912@1131 of DC 34. Accordingly, our edition is based primarily upon RRC 2O, with the missing section supplemented from DC 34. The introduction to the text differs to that of DC 34, and is presented separately. The narrative colophon has been translated in M. Morgenstern, “Neo@Mandaic in Early Mandaean Colophons Part 2: Texts, Translations and Conclusion”, Aramaic Studies 17 (2019), pp. 110—111.
#1. DC 34, copied in 1204 AH (1789—1790) by Bihram Sam b. Iahia Iuhana b. Zihrun Adam. The first 17 lines of the manuscript are in a later hand and very corrupt. This manuscript provided the basis of the translation by J.J. Buckley, The Scroll of Exalted Kingship, American Oriental Society (Translation Series Volume 3), 1993.
#2. A broken fragment of the work, appended to the start of DC 9 but in a considerably earlier hand, corresponding to ll. 7—29 of DC 34.

this file contains five sections:
1. The introduction from RRC 2O.
2. A different version of the introduction from DC 34.
3. The main body of the text. Ll. 7@912 based on RRC 2O, ll. 912@1131 based on DC 34, ll. 1131@1330 based on RRC 2O. The line numbering follows DC 34
