rḥym   (rəḥīm)   adj.  beloved
  Easily confused with rḥwm adj. in Jewish texts.


1  beloved  Com. SYAP 2:6 : רחימוי קיריס  the Lord's beloved ones. TN Deut33:12 : רחימה דייי. AphDem9.187:22 : rḥym ˁl r̈mˀ wˁl mk̈ykˀ . PJ Gen29:31 : לא הוה לאה רחימתא באנפי יעקב  Leah was not beloved in Jacob's opinion.

2  loving  Palmyrene, Syr. PAT260:1.3 : dḥlˀ ˀlhyˀ wrḥymˀ mdythwn  believers in the gods and lovers of their city-state.

For Palm. in active sense, cf. Gk. [φ]ιλοπατρισι; see PAT s.v.
If there is a semantic difference between rḥwm and rḥym, it is not clear.
