טרפעיקא   n.m.  a coin

a coin  LJLA.  Tobit(Med) 9.23 chap 5 : ואתן לך אגרך טרפעיקא כל יומא  I shall give you a drachma a day as your wage †.

This is somewhat of a corrupt form. The extant Greek and Vulgate texts have either "drachma" or "didrachma;" see Fitzmyer, Tobit, p. 195. The word itself, is from the Mishnaic Hebrew (see Jastrow) borrowing of Greek τροπᾱϊκιαῖος or the like, "half a denarius".
