לְוָת־   prep.  towards
  JLAtg always with long /ā/, but in the tradition of the Genizah PTA texts with short /a/ when standing alone, (i.e. in a closed short syllable in construct state), /ā/ with pronominal suffixes. This latter tradition is followed by some LJLA pointed manuscripts. See the similar pattern with yt prep.


  towards (animates)  Com-OA-OfA-BA.  11QtgJob 38.4=42:11 : ואתין לות איוב כל רחמוהי  all Job's friends were coming to him.  TgO Gen2:19 : וְאֵיתִי לְוָת אָדָם  he brought them to Adam.  PJ Ex32:26 : ואתכנשו לוותיה כל בנוי דלוי.
