פְּגַר פַּגְרָא   n.m.  body; corpse

(human) corpse  Com. I will set your corpses lying on top of the carcasses of your abominations. (non-human) carcass  Palmyrene, JLAtg, Sam.  TgJ Jud14:9 : אְרֵי מִפִגרָא/משלדא/ דְאַריָא נְסֵיח דֻבשָא  that he had drawn out the honey from the lion's carcass.

(living) body  JPAEpig, Syr, BabMBK, Man, LJLA. TgTosPr Ezek.28:13 : ולא איסתכלתא בפיגרך דאת עביד חיללין וניקבין  you did not look at your body: that you are made of hollows and openings.

In Syriac pgr is usually "body" while šld is "corpse" (but see citations). The variant between those two words at TgJ Jud14:9 is indicative rather that in the Jewish tradition there was uncertainty over whether this word could serve for the carcass of an animal. Note that it is never a living body in JLAtg.
