with a perfect, for a future real condition JLAtg. TgJ Is48:19 : וַהֲוַה פוֹן סַגִי כְחָלָא דְיַמָא בְנָך וֻבנֵי בְנָך כִפרִידוֹהִי‏ then your children would be as many as the sand of the sea and your grandchildren like its pebbles.

An enclitic particle usually emphasizing an unreal condition. Levy suggest a derivation from Greek που, πω, but we would rather suppose a connection with BH אֵפוֹא with a similar meaning.
