סְמָדַר‏ n.m. blossom

blossom, especially the first blossoming JLAtg, Syr, JBA, Man. TgJ Is18:5 : עַד לָא יִמטֵי זְמָן חְצָדָא אִילָנָא לְאַפרָחָא וְבֻסרָא מִינֵיה סְמָדַר‏ before the time of harvesting the tree that blooms and a blossom appears from the sour grape.
