TgO Deut25:2 :וִיהֵי אִם בַר חַיָיב לְאַלקָאָה חַיָיבָא וְיִרמֵינֵיה דַיָינָא וְיַלקֵינֵיה קְדָמוֹהִי כְמִיסַת חוֹבְתֵיה בְמִניָן‏ : should it be that the guilty one merits corporal punishment, the judge should throw him down and whip him in front of (the other) according to the severity of his crime
