The action of the priests פַסוּ, a unique usage, is difficult here and subject to different interpretations by different authors. We agree with Levy over against Jastrow that it has something to do with violations of priestly expectations rather than "to distribute", but whether it means "to weaken" or "to become desecrated" is uncertain.
