דְּחִיל‏ adj. terrible, frightening

terrible, frightening Com. Dan7:7 : חֵיוָה רביעיה/רְבִיעָאָה/ דְּחִילָה וְאֵימְתָנִי וְתַקִּיפָא‏ a fourth, frightening, fearsome and powerful beast. TgO Deut1:19 : כֹל מַדבְרָא רַבָא וֻדחִילָא הַהוּא‏ . TN Gen28:17 : מה דחיל הוא אתרא הדין‏ how frightening is this place?. FTV Ex15:2 : דחיל כל עלמיא‏ the terrible one of all the worlds.

TgJ Is38:11 : אְמַרִית לָא אַתַחזֵי עוֹד קְֹדָם דְחִילָא דַיוי בַאְרַע בֵית שְכִינְתָא‏ I shall no longer be seen before the awesomeness of the Lord in the land of the temple of the Presence. as an epithet of Abraham LJLA.
