תַּכְבַּר   n.m.  stuffed, roasted lamb


  stuffed, roasted lamb  JLAtg.  TgJ 1Sam25:18 : וַחְמֵיש עָן תַכבְרָא  [=MT חָמֵשׁ צֹאן עֲשׂוּוֹת] †.

The origin of this unique and unusual word is obscure. If from the root kbr then perhaps simply "a dish that takes a long time to prepare." The popular etymology of the rabbinic sources (i.e. תוך "inside" + בר "outside") cannot be taken seriously.
