The existence of a peal finite form for this verb is doubtful. Neither of the two examples given in the literature is certain: for ESHaer 69:17 see PSm 1490 and note that the text in the new edition is pointed as a perfect in spite of the meter; for P Jer 3:9 note that the MT itself is transitive and is the only example of qal in that function in Hebrew. Elsewhere in Pesh the Hebrew qal of this verb is always rendered with a T-stem.
