✎Notes & Bibliography▶

The actual number of different words here is uncertain. The noun formations saḇrā, seḇrā and v.n. sḇārā should probably be considered interchangeable, at least in some dialects or idiolects. It is convenient for lexicographical purposes, however, to distinguish between "opinion" and "hope" even though in Christian and Gnostic thought "hope" and "belief" were tightly woven together.
