In SamTgJ Gen 37:19, 24:65 זעיה renders Hebrew הלזה as a phonetic and midrashic play, taking it as if from the root ˁlz; see Tal under the peal finite form.
The gloss "careful, wary" in LS2 is one of the very finest examples of the deranged semantic analysis often practiced by Brockelmann. The expression ܚܦܝܬܘܬܐ ܙܗܝܬܐ means "exceptional diligence"; there is nothing careful or wary about it other than what comes from the diligence of the head noun. This all-too-common practice in LS2 is very frustrating for the lexicographer and it is a shame that Sokoloff made few efforts to eliminate it.
