midst
JLAtg
TgO Num35:5↗ וְקַרתָא בִמצִיַע דֵין יְהֵי לְהוֹן רַוחֵי קִרוַיָא‏ : (2000 cubits in every direction) with the city in the middle: this should be the areas of cities for you
2
middle one (subst., adj.)
JBA
BT BM 25a(39)↗ דעשויין כמגדלין רווחא תתאי ומציעא עילויה וזוטרא עילויה‏ : made like towers: the wides under, the middle one on it, and the small one on it
§▶
In JBA possibly used adjectivally, i.e. equivalent to mṣyˁy, but the sole supporting example from Qumran cited DJBA is almost certainly an error, given that the same text clearly uses מציעיא in the same context: QumNJ 554:1:2:7.) Note that DJBA does conflate the two forms. We suspect that all such usages are simply scribal errors.
