In Syriac the use of b_ prep. prefixed to this word is often very close in meaning to the more generalized preposition bdyl in many of the other dialects, but since it is both a relatively rare form and never functions as a conjunction, it is proper to consider it under this lemma along with the earlier lexicographers.
