This is the older Aramaic and Hebrew (and, subsequently, an authentic Palestinian) equivalent of the dialectal form (Palm, Syr, CPA) zdq. The active afel JBA form cited by Jastrow at TB Taan 22b does not appear in all mss. and has been omitted by DJBA, but should be given credance given its attestation in both a passive form in JBA and as an active in LJLA. The single Syriac example is dubious in spite of the OfA attestation, but see also s.v. zdyqwtˀ.
