In Eastern Aramaic only in archaic and dialectal contexts, when quoting scripture, or with certain verbs, such as šyn "to pacify", where the semantic context borders on that of the derived nominal yt. Even in reference to Genesis some of the Syriac commentators took the usage to hint at the nominal form.
In some LJLA texts, it is also found with the subject of some verbs (our meaning 4) in a manner somewhat different from the similar occasional Biblical Hebrew usage of את, the derived nominal, or the pronominal usage. We take this practice to be ungrammatical due to scribal/authorial uncertainty as to the rection of the verbs in question.
One needs also to recognize the grammaticalization of this form as an infix before pronominal suffixes on verbs, especially in later western Aramaic dialects and (perhaps erroneously?) in JBA texts.
